Getting Started
The first session is an intake session. It is longer than following sessions and serves a different purpose — it is an opportunity for you to share what brings you to counseling and what you are hoping to work on, and for the practice to understand your situation well enough to determine how to be most helpful. It is also an opportunity for you to see whether Four Pillars feels like the right fit. No commitment is required beyond the first session.
If the primary concerns you are bringing to therapy involve your relationship — communication, conflict, trust, intimacy, or a specific event that has affected the relationship — couples counseling is likely the appropriate starting point. If the concerns are primarily personal — your own emotional state, patterns of behavior, history, or wellbeing — individual counseling is likely the better fit. In some cases both may be appropriate, either simultaneously or sequentially. The free 15-minute consultation call is a good place to work through this question.

| Session Type | Length |

*60 or 90 minutes depending on client needs, preferences, and budget.
There is no universal answer to this question. The length of the work depends on what you are bringing to it, what your goals are, and how the work progresses. Some clients work toward a specific, defined goal and complete that work in a relatively short period. Others engage in longer-term work that evolves over time. The practice works collaboratively with each client to assess progress and adjust the approach as needed. You are never locked into a predetermined timeline.
Telehealth & Geography
Telehealth sessions are conducted via HIPAA-compliant video. Prior to your first session you will receive a secure link to set up your therapy portal and to fill out new client documentation. Sessions require a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. A stable internet connection is especially important to successfully engage in telehealth sessions.
Four Pillars works with residents of Texas and Arkansas. Texas clients are seen exclusively via HIPAA-compliant video. Arkansas clients throughout the state are also seen via HIPAA-compliant video. Clients in the Bella Vista and Bentonville area have the additional option of meeting in person.
Fees & Insurance
Fees vary depending on the type and length of service. Pricing is discussed openly during the free 15-minute consultation call — there are no surprises.
Four Pillars does not accept insurance and is considered an out-of-network provider. Upon request, the practice will provide a superbill — a detailed receipt that some clients submit to their insurance carrier for potential out-of-network reimbursement. The practice makes no representations or guarantees regarding reimbursability, which varies by plan and carrier. Clients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider directly to understand their out-of-network mental health benefits before beginning services.
Scheduling & Cancellation
New clients can schedule a free 15-minute consultation call directly through the online scheduling system on this site. Existing clients schedule through their client portal or by calling their counselor directly.
Cancellations and reschedules must occur more than 24 hours before a scheduled session. Cancellations or reschedules within 24 hours of a scheduled session will incur the full session fee. This policy exists to protect time that has been reserved specifically for you and cannot be offered to another client on short notice.
Confidentiality
Yes. Confidentiality is the baseline setting in counseling, with very narrow, limited, legally mandated exceptions. If you have specific questions about confidentiality as it applies to your situation, that is a welcome topic for your consultation call or intake session.
